Space Case Design collaborated with a young couple in Manhattan Beach to create a beautiful contemporary space for their whole family to enjoy. The kitchen, bathroom, power bath, dining room and living room were remodeled, new flooring and paint was chosen throughout and we renovated the home’s exterior and landscaping for a complete interior and exterior design blend.
The outside of the home was a simple stucco and it lacked appeal from the street so we chose a gorgeous ledger stone for the front face of the home, and cape cod style wood shingles for the remaining sides and setback areas of the exterior. New windows let in more light and gave the home a fresh updated feel. We updated the hardscape in the back and front yard and selected and planted succulents and glacier roses for texture and impact.
An airy palette of charcoals, blues and whites are blended with bleached wood tones and patterned rugs throughout the home. Mid-century inspired dining chairs in a navy blue linen and clean-lined furniture provide a sophisticated space for entertaining in the open living and dining room. In the living room, a fireplace remodel to include flanking custom builtins made great use of the length of the main wall and full teal linen draperies and accents bring the colors from the kitchen and dining area into the room creating a cohesive beach vibe. Blue and whites where used in both bathrooms to blend with the new color palette of the home.
